Cartogram

Cartograms: representations of geographical data in which size is proportional not to geographic area, but to some other statistical information such as population, crime rate, etc.

This is a cartogram of Ireland, showing the population of different parts. The different colors indicate the 32 different historical counties of Ireland.http://fgibbons.com/cartograms/images/EqualArea32.png

I don't think it is a cartogram that show the population. Dublin county should be huge in respect of any other. I think it is just a cartogram in which every county occupies an equal surface
